Woman arrested for allegedly faking her daughter’s kidnap and requesting N3 million from her ex-husband
One Rahama Sulaiman, 25 has been apprehended by the Kano State Police Command has arrested 25-year-old for allegedly kidnapping her six-year-old daughter and demanding a N3 million ransom from her ex-husband.
Rahama reportedly took the daughter to a relative in Madobi LGA to keep for her, claiming she would be away for four days.
Speaking to newsmen at the Kano Police Command’s headquarters on Friday, May 13, 2023, the Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Usaini Gumel said they received a report from the husband, Kabiru Shehu, that his daughter had been kidnapped.
“On 08/05/2023, a report was received from one Kabiru Shehu of Sharada Quarters, Kano Municipal LGA that his divorced wife, one Rahma Sulaiman , ‘f’ , 25 years old informed him that his daughter named Hafsat Kabiru, ‘f’, 6 years old was missing & that unknown persons called her through her mobile phone demanding the sum of 3 Million as ransom.
After investigation, it was revealed that she hide the daughter at a relative house.
