Zamfara CP urges Christian Community to pray for peace

The Zamfara Police Command has felicitated the Christian community in the state on Christmas and New Year celebrations, asking them for prayers to achieve peace in the country.

The Command also urged Christians in the state to use the period to pray for stability for the state and Nigeria as a whole.

The state Police Commissioner, Mr Kolo Yusuf, made the call in a statement issued in Gusau on Monday, by the Police Spokesperson, SP Muhammad Shehu.

The CP urged Christians to use the period to offer special prayers for the sustainable peace, stability and development in Zamfara and our dear country.

According to Yusuf, security measures have been put in place to safeguard lives and property during and after the Christmas and New year celebrations.

“Massive deployment of the police personnel and other security agencies to all Churches, recreational centres and other vulnerable places have been made to ensure peaceful celebrations in the state.

“The CP personally embarked on confidence-building patrol of major highways In the state, especially from Gusau-Mafara-Sokoto road.

“The patrol is aimed at ensuring safety and security of commuters and other road users,” the statement said.

The Police Commissioner charged Area, Tactical Commanders and Divisional Officers to adopt same strategy in their various Environments.
