14 suspected kidnapers arrested, N2m, weapons recovered
Briefing journalists at the Force Headquarters in Dutse, the State’s Police Commissioner, Aliyu Sale Tafida said the arrest was as a result of an intelligence-led raid code-named ‘Operation flush out’, which was carried out in Sule- Tankarkar Council comprising officers and men from Departments of Police Mobile Force, Criminal Investigations Department, State Intelligence Bureau and others.
According to Tafida, during the operation, three criminal hideouts were raised in Dakin Maizuwo, Dan Gwanki and Yandamo villages all in Sule- Tankarkar Councils.
He said: “During the raid, 14 kidnappers, 10 males, four females and their wards were apprehended. Other items recovered are 3 AK 47 Rifles, 9 magazines and 308 live ammunitions of 6.7 mm, 1 burnt general-purpose machine gun (GPMG) with two empty chains. One Toyota Hummer bus was recovered from the hands of the suspected criminals, nine motorcycles, one cutlass, six different handsets with nine batteries, twelve SIM cards, five SD card memories, and two million and seventy thousand naira, suspected to be ransom fees monies.”
Tafida however, stated that during the operation, his men were able to rescue unhurt, one Hadiza Alh Chadi, who was earlier abducted at Mark village, Guri Council.
He also said other items recovered were two ruffles carted away from its officers killed at Kwallam village, Taura Council, while one motorcycle belonging to a commander of Yanbulala local security outfit, Andy Isah Sajo, who was also shot dead on January 25, 2022, was recovered.
The CP reiterated the command’s stance to protect the life and properties of the people.
