ATAGA: Chidinma gets deluxe treatment from prison officials after changing her story
As Chidinma Ojukwu changed her story, and her term of detention also changed, the suspected killer of Super TV CEO Usifo Ataga has got some of her fortune changing too.
The change of status was at least visible to reporters on Monday when Ojukwu came to court and earned another month in detention.
Oh her way back from the Yaba Magistrate court, she was transported in a tinted-glass Toyota Camry.
It was a rare gesture, according a prison PRO Rotimi Oladokun.
“It was a security diversion. It is a high profile case, so it was part of our security diversion. It was just to create a diversion,” he said.
Suspects go to court in Nigeria’s prison system’s Black Maria. That’s normal for petty crimes and infractions..
A prime suspect like Ojukwu in a crime like murder has to be shielded from attacks.
The mass communication undergraduate of UNILAG has changed her initial story of a killer who committed a crime of passion to just a participant in grand conspiracy.
Ataga’s family had insisted the TV boss was murdered by other people who used Ojukwu as a side chic to trap Ataga.
Both had lodged in short service apartment at Lekki in June, and they both did drugs and had rounds of sex before the tryst went bloody.
