Rihanna traces her Igbo root outside of Nigeria
American billionaire popstar Rihana has finally opened up on her African origin.
Unfortunately, she doesn’t know where in Africa
The music star hails from Barbados, though, from where she migrated to America to launch her music career.
Her latest revelation was based on what her mum told her.
In a recent interview, Rihana said her mother told her she is Igbo.
“My mom told me that I am originally an Igbo woman. Igbo is a tribe in Africa.”
African American especially those of Nigerian descent refer to their fatherland, which they don’t know where it is, as Africa.
Except for Igbo in Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, and Cameroon, the tribe is predominantly Nigerian.
