2 APC leaders whose their defection to another party may affect APC in next election
It is no more news that the All Progressives Congress APC in Osun State is facing Leadership Challenges. The Governor of the State, Gboyega Oyetola and his Predecessor, Rauf Aregbesola are seriously fighting each other. Oyetola created a Group called Ilerioluwa. The Purpose of the Group is to emancipate for Governor Oyetola Second Term Governorship ambition while Aregbesola formed another Group called The Osun Progressives (TOP).
The two Groups have not been finding it easy with each other in the State. It was revealed that Aregbesola’s Loyalists complained of being marginalised in the Party. It was also Narrated that Aregbesola’s Loyalists were not given much Positions in the just concluded Ward and Local Government Congress. It should be recalled that Aregbesola filed Petition against how the Ward Congress was conducted in the State, to the National Executives of the Party but his Petition was Struck out.
The Crisis rocking the Party in Osun State may lead to defection of Some Party Leaders to Opposition Party and this should be prevented, if the Party want to maintain its relevance in the State. There are some APC Leaders in the State whose their defection to another Party will seriously affect the Party in the forthcoming Governorship Polls.
One of the APC Leaders whose his defection may affect the Party is the former Governor of the State, Rauf Aregbesola. Aregbesola is a grassroot Politician and he is very Popular in the State. Aregbesola’s defection to another Party may affect APC in the forthcoming Governorship election. Aregbesola has large numerous followers in the Party than any of the Leaders. The kind gesture Aregbesola had shown to the People when he was the Governor of the State is still speaking for him up till today.
Though, Aregbesola may not have enough resources to maintain his followers in the Party but the little he has done when he was the Governor of the state, is enough for him to mobilise People to another Party. It was reliably gathered that majority of the People in this Present administration in the State Aregbesola’s Boys and they are still working for him. Therefore, Governor Oyetola and APC Leaders must not allow Aregbesola to dump the Party.
Another APC Leader whose his defection may affect the Party is the former Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti. It should be recalled that Adeoti dumped the Party for Action Democratic Party ADP, few months to 2018 Governorship election. Adeoti defected to ADP when he was denied the Governorship Ticket under the Platform of the Party. Though, He has returned to APC.
It was Adeoti’s defection to ADP that called for 2018 Rerun election. APC could have won the 2018 Governorship election with ease in the State. Presently, It was also gathered that Adeoti has joined the TOP Group but he did not declared to the Public that he has joined the Group. Therefore, Governor Oyetola and APC Leaders Should reach out to Alhaji Adeoti before it is too late. Both Aregbesola and Adeoti’s defection will affect APC in Osun State, if they should defect to another Party.
