Badeh afraid of prison food, lives on what family brings
Former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, is scared of eating the Kuje Prison ration like all his inmates. He would rather wait for his family members to bring him food since he was remanded in prison March 7.
A prison official who confirmed this to the Vanguard said the prison authorities make it optional for prisoners to eat the official meal. “It is the right of every prison inmate to decide whether to bring in their food or eat what is provided by the NPS,” said the official.
Badeh just spent his first weekend in prison because of his inability to meet his bail conditions.

Justice Abang Okon of the Federal High Court Abuja granted the former CDS bail March 10, after the EFCC arraigned him on a 10-count charge of money laundering.
To secure his freedom, Badeh has to provide two sureties with bail bond N1 billion each and landed properties in Abuja. The suspect would also submit his travel documents to the court registrar.
But as of Sunday, Badeh had not been able to meet the conditions, though his lawyer Samuel Zibiri (SAN) told a newspaper his client has secured the two sureties, and might be released from prison this week for trial.
