Fulham close in on permanent Samuel Chukwueze deal
Samuel Chukwueze is set to remain in West London on a permanent basis as Fulham F.C. move closer to completing a deal for the Nigerian winger from AC Milan in a transfer reportedly worth around €20 million.
The Super Eagles star joined Fulham on a season-long loan ahead of the 2025/26 campaign after struggling for regular playing time in Italy. Since arriving at Craven Cottage, however, the 26-year-old has rediscovered his form and emerged as one of manager Marco Silva’s key attacking players.
Sources close to the negotiations indicate that Fulham have successfully negotiated a reduced transfer fee after initially declining to activate the €24 million buy-option included in the original loan agreement. The revised package, believed to be close to €20 million, is now expected to satisfy Milan as the Serie A giants continue plans for a summer squad overhaul.
Chukwueze has made a strong impression in the Premier League this season, contributing three goals and four assists in 22 league appearances. One of his standout moments came in Fulham’s memorable victory over Manchester City F.C., where he scored twice in a performance that further strengthened his reputation among the club’s supporters.
Speaking recently about life in England, Chukwueze expressed satisfaction with his role at Fulham and praised the environment created within the squad.
The proposed permanent move would also strengthen Fulham’s growing Nigerian presence, with Chukwueze expected to continue alongside fellow Super Eagles stars Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey at the club.
For AC Milan, the transfer is expected to provide additional funds for recruitment ahead of the 2026/27 season, while Fulham view the deal as a strategic investment in an experienced Premier League attacker entering the prime years of his career.
Although neither club has officially confirmed the agreement, reports suggest the transfer could be finalized shortly after Fulham’s final match of the season.
