Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s alleged presidential ambitions have recently been the talk of the town. Several political groups have been formed on his behalf, and some prominent politicians have endorsed him to run for President, despite the fact that he has yet to make a formal pronouncement about his involvement in the race.

Below is a list of three Northern Christian politicians who could be paired with Tinubu if the APC National Leader succumbs to pressure and is elected as the party’s flagbearer.

(1) Boss Mustapha

Mustapha has been a long-time ally of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; during the Third Republic, the two were members of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), as well as the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), where Mustapha served as Deputy National Chairman. The 65-year-old APC Chieftain, who is currently the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has extensive political experience.

In the 1980s, he became politically involved as a member of the Constituent Assembly, which created the Third Republic Constitution. Mustapha is qualified for the APC Vice-Presidential Ticket based on his extensive political experience.

(2) Simon Lalong

Lalong is the Governor of Plateau State for the second time. He is also the Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum. Since 1999, the North-Central Geopolitical Zone has been neglected in the public sphere. As a result, he may be able to secure the support of his fellow governors in the north in order to become the APC Vice-Presidential Candidate.

(3) Yakubu Dogara

Between 2015 and 2019, Dogara was the 14th Speaker of the House of Representatives. The Bauchi State-born lawyer turned politician is a fourth-term member of the House of Representatives, representing the Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency. Dogara is a prominent Northern Christian in the political sphere who has been involved in politics since 2005.
