2023: Ishaku advocates prayers for smooth transition
Taraba Governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku has advocated for Prayers for successful transition as Nigeria begins preparations for the Selections of Candidates for 2023 general Elections.
The Governor who called on Christians to pray for Politicians in the State as the preparations for Campaigns gathers momentum, was speaking this Weekend in Takum, Headquarters of Takum Local Government Area of the State.
Darius Ishaku, our Correspondent learnt was in Takum during the occasion of the 2022 edition of the Bethel, an annual religious programme of the Christian Reformed Church in Nigeria (CRC-N).
The Governor said the State and the entire Country was at a critical point of their political journey into a new dispensation and would require prayers towards a smooth transition.
“Very soon Campaigns for the selection of candidates to vie for various Political offices will kick off and we will require prayers by all religious groups for a peaceful process”, he said.
According to the Governor, his administration has done a lot to ameliorate the sufferings of the people through the development of infrastructure and the empowerment of women and youths.
Governor Ishaku further reminded the people of the State that there is an alternative to peace in any human society which wants development and called on all ethnic groups and communities in the State to seek peace with their neighbours always.
He assured that the welfare of the people remains a priority for his administration and that the government will continue in its determination to meet the aspirations of the people until its last day in office.
Our Reporter gathered that the 2022 edition of Bethel which saw a gathering of over 10,000 congregants was an opportunity for Ishaku to also preach peace among various communities in the State.
