2023: What emirs told visiting Amaechi after he declared for presidency
After his declaration for the 2023 presidency, Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi on Monday made a trip to the palaces of Emirs of Daura Umar Faruq, that of Bichi Nasir Ado Bayero, and Kano Aminu Ado Bayero as part of consultations for his presidential ambition.
Amaechi began his consultation from the only town in the north where he has some popularity—Daura.
He was welcome the way V.P Yemi Osinbajo—also the son of the soil— was also welcome when he went there in 2021 to represent Buhari
“Emir Umar just finished praying for and blessed his Dan Amanar, Amaechi to proceed with courage in the race for APC 2023 Presidential ticket,”Amaechi’s spokesman David Iyofor tweeted.
Bayero also stated the history of his relationship with Amaechi, and wished him well in his ambition to lead Nigeria.
After locating a university of transportation to the town where President Muhammadu Buhari comes from, he got a traditional title ‘Dan Amanar Daura’, meaning trusted son of Daura.
He was accompanied by Borno Senator Ali Ndume and others.
