2027: APC unveils nationwide campaign timetable, Tinubu to rally in 12 states
President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to attend campaign rallies in 12 states, while other All Progressives Congress leaders will lead activities across the remaining states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released a proposed nationwide campaign rally timetable ahead of the 2027 general elections, with President Bola Tinubu expected to personally attend rallies in 12 states.
The schedule, reported on October 15 and 16, 2026, covers Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), with the campaign expected to begin in Kaduna on October 24, 2026, and conclude with a grand rally in Lagos on January 9, 2027.
According to the timetable, Tinubu is expected to attend rallies in Kaduna, Rivers, Plateau, Oyo, Borno, Enugu, Bauchi, Sokoto, Delta, Kano, Adamawa and Lagos.
Other senior party leaders are expected to lead campaign activities in the remaining states and the FCT as the ruling party seeks to mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The APC has indicated that the timetable is proposed and subject to official confirmation.
The President’s first scheduled appearance is the campaign flag-off in Kaduna on October 24.
He is then expected to attend rallies in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on November 7; Jos, Plateau State, on November 14; and Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 21.
The timetable lists Maiduguri, Borno State, for November 25, followed by Enugu on November 28 and Bauchi on November 29.
For December, Tinubu is expected at the rally in Sokoto on December 4, followed by Asaba, Delta State, on December 12, and Kano on December 17.
His campaign appearances are scheduled to resume in January with a rally in Yola, Adamawa State, on January 4. The proposed programme ends with a grand rally in Lagos on January 9.
The party’s broader schedule includes campaign events in all 36 states and the FCT, with party officials and other campaign leaders expected to represent Tinubu at locations he is not scheduled to visit.
The proposed timetable is designed to take the APC’s campaign across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, according to reports on the party’s plans.
The schedule includes rallies in several states where opposition politicians are influential, including Oyo, Bauchi and Adamawa.
The Adamawa rally is scheduled for January 4, ahead of the Lagos finale five days later.
The nationwide mobilisation is expected to involve party leaders, state chapters and campaign officials as the APC prepares to defend its position in the 2027 presidential election.
The timetable follows Tinubu’s earlier indication that he might not personally attend campaign rallies in every state, citing the need to balance electioneering with the responsibilities of governing the country.
The decision has attracted criticism from opposition figures, who have argued that the President should personally engage voters and defend his administration’s record ahead of seeking another term.
However, an APC campaign official, Obafemi George, said there was no legal requirement for a presidential candidate to visit all 36 states during a campaign.
George, a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council’s media and strategic communications directorate, said the party’s approach reflected its campaign strategy and the need to sustain the administration’s policy agenda.
The APC has maintained its preparations for the 2027 election, with the proposed timetable setting out how its campaign activities will be distributed nationwide.
