Man electrocuted while stealing power cable
A vandal died while stealing electric cables from a transformer at Lakeview Homes Estate Phase II, Mabushi area of Abuja, in the FCT on Monday.
Neighbours observed there was an outage around 4 am though the area had supply.
On investigation, they found a man lying motionless close to the transformer feeding the area. He was already dead.
According to reports, the community informed the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company which later sent officers to the place.
The cable thief had already pulled out two cables before he was electrocuted, according to the DISCO officers.
Police later reached out to the family of the dead man, using the phone found on him.
