Hitman, 2 other Eiye cultists captured in night confrontation with police
Three topshots of the Eiye Frat terrorizing Ijebu Ode have been arrested following a confrontation with Ogun police command operatives during the week.
The pointsman, Odukoya Odushina, was a wanted man before. He once robbed and murdered at the same time.
It was while the cultists were holding their meeting at night around a black spot in the town that the police, tipped off, swooped in on them.
According to the command’s spokesman, Abimbola Oyeeyemi, Odushina, Subomi Popoola, and Itunuoluwa Taiwo were arrested after a deadly confrontation with the officers that stormed their meeting.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested suspects were not only into cultism, they were into armed robbery as well,’ he said.
“It was also discovered that Odukoya Odushina had been arrested once and charged to court, but was granted bail. On the third day after he was granted bail, he went with his gang to rob at Ayegbami area of ijebu Ode where he killed one man simply known as Baba Njo.
“Some robbed items such as jewellery, phones and suspected hard drugs were recovered from them.”
He said the Odushina boys have also been linked to several cult killings in ijebu Ode and its environs.
The command continues its manhunt for others, and CP Lanre Bankole has ordered further investigation.
