3 dead in explosion at BUA cement factory
Three persons were proclaimed dead in an explosion at BUA Cement factory in Sokoto State. The explosion was said to have occurred in the early hours of Friday, which triggered massive fire outbreak in the factory.
The cause of the explosion was not immediately ascertained by the management who were perturbed by the loss of life and the destruction of production facilitates in the factory. The demised workers of the company were said to be in duty on a diesel tank in the company’s premises.
The public affairs officer of the Sokoto State Fire Service, Bello Baban Addini, acknowledged the industrial accident, disclosing that several persons sustained different degrees of injuries. He said the injured were taken to a medical centre in Sokoto. For urgent treatment.
The inferno was said to be beyond a combined team Federal and state fire service, including the internal fire service department of the company. They were said to be unable to extinguish the fire, thus, the inferno caused extensive damage in the factory.
