Buhari to receive 2016 budget details today
The National Assembly is set to formally hand over details of the 2016 budget to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Both Chairmen of the Senate and House of Representatives committees on appropriation had yesterday submitted budget details to the Clerk to the National Assembly. Chairman of the House committee on appropriation Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin (APC, Kano) while briefing newsmen, said the Clerk would forward the details to the president as soon as possible.

When the parliament passed the budget last week, President Muhammadu Buhari declined to assent the bill, demanding to see the details before signing.
President Muhammadu Buhari presented the 2016 national budget before a joint session of the National Assembly, comprising the Senate and the House of Representatives on December 22, 2015. Since then, there have been controversies surrounding the authenticity of the budget submitted, which has dragged on for a while.
