UCL: Prize money for Real Madrid, Liverpool revealed
The prize money for Real Madrid after winning the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League trophy has been revealed.
UEFA will pay Real Madrid £16.97m for winning this year’s Champions League ahead of Liverpool.
The Europe top football governing body will also pay Liverpool £13.15m for losing the Champions League final to Real Madrid.
According to the Mirror, teams earn more prize money the further they progress in the tournament, meaning Real Madrid will have amassed around £102million from the competition overall.
Real Madrid defeated Liverpool 1-0 in the final on Saturday night in Paris.
Vinicius scored the only goal of the match in the second half to ensure the LaLiga champions lifted their 14th Champions League.
