“The wrong suspects were arrested over Owo church attack” – Babajide Otitoju alleges
Babajide Otitoju, an investigative journalist, has made fresh revelations regarding the arrest of the suspected attackers of the Saint Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State. In his interview on TVC News, Babajide revealed why the church attackers may not be ISWAP terrorists.
Addressing the incident, Babajide said, “ISWAP does not delay in taking responsibility for its attacks.” You saw how they quickly took responsibility for the attack on Taraba State. Even when some Christians were killed in Ebira, Kogi State, ISWAP claimed responsibility. They have claimed responsibility for their terrorist attacks over the last few months. That was why we said ISWAP appears to have changed tactics.
He continued, “It could be the handwork of a terrorist group.” However, I have not heard that the ISWAP has claimed responsibility for the attack in Owo. By their nature, ISWAP claims responsibility. Let us wait for the investigation to be completed. It is unfortunate that the attackers have not been arrested. Some of us jubilated too early when some people claimed that the “Juju” of Owo people captured the attackers. We thought the Juju had prevailed, but it seems that we rejoiced too early. The arrested suspects were not responsible for the Owo church attack.
