Another truckload of combat-ready migrants intercepted in Ondo; charms, action photo recovered
Days after no fewer than 140 migrants in a truck were intercepted in Ibadan on their way to Ogun and Lagos, the Amotekun corps have again arrested another truck full of northern migrants hidden behind bags of foodstuff.
But the latest batch of 151 men and women were ‘armed’.
According to reports, the southwest security network acted on intelligence, and stopped the vehicle early morning around Sango, along the Akure/Ado road.
Some of the passengers carried charms and photographs of combat drills.
Driver of the truck conveying the invaders claimed they were from Jigawa, Kastina, and Kano and that they had chosen them among groups traveling to the southwest.
“Upon interception, we asked for their destinations, some said Akure, while others said Osogbo in Osun State,” he said.
“We have not completed profiling them, as none of them has an idea of what they are going to do or their mission.
“All they were able to tell us is that they entered the vehicle and came to Ondo State.
“This, however, is not a good sign, following the security warning in the South West States.
“While respecting their rights as Nigerians, yet, we are not sure of what they are here for, we still feel that while traveling, anyone should have a mission and destination at where he or she is going to.
