Mohbad: Lilsmart cries out over fear of dying young
Former Marlian music signee, Lilsmart, has expressed his fear of dying young. The singer, who is known for his hit singles “Abule” and “Omo Iya Elewe”, took to social media to share his thoughts.
“I’m scared. I don’t want to die young,” he wrote. “I have so much I want to do with my life. I want to make music, travel the world, and experience all that life has to offer. But I’m afraid that my time is running out.”
This is coming few days after the death of Mohbad, who died under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday.

Lilsmart’s fears are not unfounded. The music industry is notoriously unforgiving, there have been a number of high-profile deaths of young musicians, including Dagrin, Dablixx Osha and others.
Lilsmart is not the only one who is concerned about the dangers of the music industry. Many artists have spoken out about the pressure to succeed, the drug use, and the mental health challenges that come with being a young musician.
“It’s a very difficult industry,” Lilsmart said. “There’s a lot of pressure to be successful, and it can be very easy to get caught up in the wrong things. I’m just trying to stay focused on my music and stay positive.”
