The Confederation of African Football (CAF) president, Patrice Motsepe, announced on Monday that the eighth African Nations Championships  will be held from February 1 to 28, 2025 in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

The CHAN, which is exclusively for locally-based players, will mark the first time that East Africa hosts a continental football competition for national teams.

It will also serve as a precursor to the 2027 African Cup of Nations, which will be co-hosted by the same three countries.

Motsepe, who visited Kenyan national stadiums earmarked to host the event, expressed his satisfaction with the commitment shown by the three countries in enhancing their football infrastructure and attracting visitors.
