Rivers man allegedly kills lover, leaves body in tricycle with children
A tricycle rider identified only as IK has allegedly killed his lover and the mother of his two children following a domestic dispute in Rivers State, prompting a police investigation.
The incident reportedly occurred in Ogbogoro Community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, where the suspect allegedly assaulted the woman during a heated argument before fleeing the scene. Residents said the victim’s lifeless body was later found inside a tricycle alongside the couple’s two young children.
The discovery shocked members of the community, with neighbours and passers-by gathering at the scene after noticing the woman’s body and the distressed children in the vehicle. The exact cause of the argument that preceded the incident has not been confirmed.
Local residents said the suspect fled shortly after the incident, while efforts were made to care for the children and alert authorities.
Police in Rivers State have commenced an investigation into the alleged murder and are expected to launch a manhunt for the suspect if he remains at large. Authorities have not yet released an official statement detailing the circumstances surrounding the case.
The incident has sparked outrage among residents, who have called for a thorough investigation and justice for the victim.
