Oritsejafor preaches endurance on nation’s challenges
Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, President, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has urged Nigerians to be resolute in the face of the current challenges confronting the nation.
Oritsejafor gave the advice at the Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service held in honour of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli Emiko in Warri on Sunday.
The service was held at the Foursquare Gospel Church inside the Palace of the Olu in Ekorode Itsekiri in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta.
Orisejafor urged the people not to be deterred by the present situation, noting that God will intervene at the appropriate time.
He said that clerics were praying fervently for the peace and economic revival of the country.
The CAN president said that the occasion was special to him and the entire people of Iwere land because God has destined the new Olu of Warri for greater things.
”The crown of the Olu of Warri is a special crown owned by only the Itsekiri Kingdom in the whole of Africa.
”The crown, having been more than five hundred years old, is a special gift given to the son of Dom Dom Mingos by the king of Portugal in the 16th century.
”We should always learn to give thanks because it opens the door for greater things to happen”, he said.
Oritsejafor called on the people to learn how to manage success, noting that it could to lead to destruction if not well handled.
Former Gov. Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta, Sen. James Manager, Delta Commissioner for Works, Mr Vincent Uduaghan, Mr Ernest Okwenze, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Evelyn Oboro, member, House of Representatives, and chiefs were present.
