CAN, PFN silent as northern Pentecostal bishops meet Tinubu
Despite a brick wall the Christian Association of Nigeria and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria erected against the APC Muslim-Muslim ticket, the presidential candidate has found a way in.
Bola Tinubu met with the Pentecostal Bishops Forum of Northern Nigeria in Abuja on Thursday. It was the second time he would be seen in company of Christian clerics.
The first being months ago when CAN leadership discredited the clerics who were at the meeting, calling them artisans whom Tinubu sewed cassocks for.
The Thursday meeting however had somebigger names CAN may not deny.
The chairman of forum is Archbishop John Praise.
“…From what you have heard and from the explanation, he (Tinubu) had given to us to make your own judgement of who will better rule and handle the country,” the cleric said in a report by the Nation.
“We are not committed to endorsing anybody but you should ask your conscience.’
Tinubu had told them he is not bringing religion to lead Nigeria, and that he has been a friend of the Christian community all along.
My intention is to develop this country, to bring prosperity to our country and I have better qualifications, better track records, better exposure, better vision than any of my mates.”
