Again, Atlantic Ocean washes over Ayetoro; community groans
Ocean surges have rendered many people homeless at Ayetoro, Ilaje LGA, Ondo, and the government has yet to come to their aid.
The latest disaster happened 5 am Monday while residents were still asleep.
The Atlantic Oceans have washed over the community many times, destroying properties and livelihoods that were worth millions of naira.
Ayetoro’s spokesperson Prince Victor Akinluwa described the current situation as unbearable for the people.
“We are helpless, we have not received any assistance from Ondo State government and we have not even heard from them lately,” he said.
According to him, all that they get from the government were just promises that were never fulfilled.
“We have been neglected and abandoned to suffer this horrible catastrophe without any move to come to our rescue.”
