Akpabio celebrates Remi Tinubu at 66, hails service to Nigeria

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has congratulated First Lady Oluremi Tinubu on her 66th birthday, describing her as a woman whose life has been defined by faith, service, sacrifice and resilience.

In a birthday message personally signed on Monday, September 21, 2026, Akpabio praised the First Lady’s contributions to public service and her advocacy for vulnerable groups, women and children.

The Senate President said Tinubu’s journey from the classroom to public office, the Senate and ultimately the position of First Lady demonstrated that leadership should be measured by its impact on people’s lives.

“Your Excellency, your life reflects faith, service, sacrifice and quiet strength. From the classroom to public office, the Senate and the position of First Lady, you have demonstrated that leadership is measured by its impact on people’s lives,” Akpabio said.

He also commended the First Lady’s activities through the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), saying her interventions had continued to promote the prospect of a better Nigeria.

“Through your compassion for the vulnerable, advocacy for women and children, and the interventions of the Renewed Hope Initiative, you continue to advance the hope of a better Nigeria,” he added.

Akpabio further described Oluremi Tinubu as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose personal qualities and support have contributed to her role alongside President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He said her strength and grace had inspired many Nigerians while wishing her continued fulfilment in her public and personal life.

“On behalf of the Senate, the National Assembly and my family, I wish you abundant health, enduring happiness, divine favour and many more years of purposeful service,” the Senate President said.

He concluded the message by praying for God’s continued protection and strength for the First Lady.

“Happy 66th Birthday, Your Excellency.

“May God continue to strengthen and preserve you, making your life an even greater blessing to your family, our nation and humanity,” he said.
