Am satisfied with barren draw with Sia-One Academy – Amapakabo
Nigeria U23 coach Imama Amapakabo told National Daily recently that he was satisfied with the performance of his newly-assembled team despite a goalless draw with Sia-One Academy.
It was the U23s first training match since they opened camp in Abuja this past week.
“I am certainly satisfied with the performance of the team even though the goals did not come,” he said.
“It was an opportunity to look at the players after the tactical work we have done with them, we wanted to see how well they have been able to absorb what we have taught them.”
The Olympic team are preparing for an U23 AFCON qualifier against Libya next month.
Nigeria are the reigning U23 AFCON champions and the competition also serves as qualifiers for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
