Amosun leads Akinlade, APM Gov. Candidate to Buhari

Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State on Sunday led the governorship candidate of Allied Peoples Movement, APM, in Ogun State, Adekunle Akinlade, on a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja.
Though the meeting was brief, Amosun and Akinlade joined President Buhari in a group photograph where they displayed the President’s electioneering campaign of four fingers on each arm.
President Buhari did not appear to have contrary view over Amosun’s sponsorship of a governorship candidate on the platform of another political party while still remaining a member of the ruling APC.
Amosun has been having scuffles with APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, over APC governorship candidate in Ogun State. Oshiomhole had nullified the election of Akinlade who won the party’s primary election and through the the National Working Committee, NWC, conducted another primary election which declared Dapo Abiodun winner and the subsequent governorship candidate of the party in Ogun State. Abiodun is suspected to be sponsored by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Amosun has vowed to support the APM candidate but support Buhari in 2019.
President Buhari on Sunday received Amosun and Akinlade at the State House, Abuja, without objection. President Buhari had in December 2018, received Dapo Abiodun, APC governorship candidate, who was led to the Villa by former Governor Ogun State Governor, Olusegun Osoba.
