ANAMBRA: Casualties as bandits attack police station
About two days after bandits killed a notable citizen of Anambra Chike Akunyili at Nkpor, an unspecified number of people, including police men have been murdered again in the state.
In a video now trending online, a building which the narrator said was a police station at Ajalli was belching out heave plumes of smoke, and a truck was burning in front of the building
A body of a man was lying on the ground, lifeless.
Eyewitnesses say the attack was carried out by the so-called “unknown gunmen” who invaded the area in a number of vehicles.
Ajalli is the headquarters of Orumba North Local Government Area.
According to the narrator, some people were trapped in the building, and neighbours were breaking walls and windows to rescue those rapped.
The killers of Akunyili, who was the widower of Dora, a former minister of information, were allegedly proclaiming no election in Anambra while they opened fire on his car Tuesday evening.
Any now believe the secessionist group IPOB which has vowed there will be no election in the southeast have stepped up the attack.
