Anambra: “Soludo, Obiano rigged election. Supreme Court will decide winner”
As APGA’s candidate Charles Soludo romps ahead to victory in the on-going guber election in Anambra, the APC has started playing the bad loser.
Wining no LGA so far, the APC believes its candidate Andy Uba was rigged out of the election. And INEC was there watching.
“We want the whole world to hear our voice that we will never accept the outcome of the Anambra gubernatorial election,” said Basil Edjike, Anambra APC chairman in a statement Sunday night.
“The candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and the sitting Governor, Willie Obiano, manipulated the whole electoral system and we will stand to resist it.”
Ejike claimed the APC virtually won in all the local governments, but Gov Willie Obiano and Charles Soludo, through instrumentality, corrupt-minded INEC officers, subverted the whole process in favour of APGA.
“But if INEC goes ahead to announce the results, we will definitely challenge the election process at the court of law, up to Supreme Court. Nobody can intimidate us,” he said.
Appealing to the Supreme Court to decide election winners is a culture disgruntled candidates and their parties have created in Nigeria’s democracy.
The apex court gave the APC Imo guber election even when the party candidate came a distant third.
The PDP candidate in Zamfara, then, Bello Matawalle, also won the guber election he didn’t contest thanks to Supreme Court.
