Ogun kidnappers reduce ransom, demand hard drugs, food, water
Some unidentified gunmen kidnapped three residents of Obada Oko on Sunday, and demanded not just a ransom, but with some things to the bargain.
One of the four victims escaped, and narrated how it all went Monday night, close to his home.
Razaq Lasisi said he was coming from work around 9 pm, and was ambushed, along with others, some distance to his home at Ogba Kehinde.
The former principal resisted during the crossfire between the responding police and bandits. But he broke free and escaped as the kidnappers herded the three captured into the bush.
“Immediately I tried to escape, one of them shot me twice. As I was about to move, one grabbed me and I gave the person a heavy blow which made him leave me,” he said.
“Blood was all over my body and I ran down to my neighbour’s house who I asked to take me to Aro Psychiatric hospital because I felt that was the only place I could be treated.”
He said the kidnappers called on Monday and asked us to pay N10 million before they can release their victims.
“They said we should come along with packs of codeine, marijuana, water and food as ransom.
“But, after serious appeals, they have reduced the ransom to N1.5 million with codeine, water and food.”
The command’s PRO Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the incident, adding one suspect was arrested.
“The suspect arrested is a strong member of the gang. We have commenced the investigation and we would soon arrest them,” Oyeyemi stated.
