APC celebrates Senator Ajibola Basiru at 53, hails legacy of leadership, service
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended warm felicitations to its National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, as he marks his 53rd birthday, praising his unwavering commitment to public service, party development, and national progress.
In a celebratory message issued on Wednesday and signed by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, CON, the party described Senator Basiru as a “legal luminary, astute administrator, author, legislator and accomplished politician,” who has continued to make his mark in Nigeria’s democratic journey.
The party hailed the former Senate spokesperson for what it called his “remarkable history of leadership and selfless service,” noting that at just 53, Senator Basiru has etched his name on the sands of time through a career defined by discipline, intellect, and a progressive vision.
“Basiru’s political journey, which began with his affiliation with the Alliance for Democracy (AD), and evolved through the Action Congress (AC), the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), and now the All Progressives Congress (APC), reflects a consistent commitment to progressive ideals,” the statement read.

The APC further acknowledged the transformational impact Basiru has brought to his current role as National Secretary, saying his leadership at the party’s national secretariat has been marked by professionalism, dedication, and operational efficiency.
“Significantly, Senator Basiru has brought his stellar leadership acumen, professionalism and thoroughness to bear on the administration of the National Secretariat and activities of our great Party. His efficiency and dedication to duty remain a source of inspiration to all,” Morka stated.
On behalf of the National Working Committee (NWC), party leaders, members, and supporters across the country, the APC expressed heartfelt prayers for the celebrant, asking Almighty Allah to continue to bless him with long life, wisdom, and sound health.
The statement concluded with a congratulatory message to the party’s “indefatigable National Secretary,” celebrating his contributions not only to the APC but also to Nigeria’s broader democratic and governance processes.
