APC Convention: Youths dare governors, appeal to Buhari, Lawan to resist plots to impose NWC members
The preparations for the February 26 national convention of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) gas continued to generate turmoil in the party. Hundreds of APC youths had on Monday dared APC governors, admonishing them to desist from imposing manipulating that national convention and imposing members of the National Working Committee (NWC).
The youths, thus, held mass protest on Monday at the Presidential Villa, alleging plots by certain APC Governors to impose candidates at the party’s national convention on February 26, 2022.
The youths also took their protest to the National Assembly.
The APC youths, under the aegis of Youth Development and Solidarity Forum, vowed that they will resist any attempt to hijack the party’s national convention by governors. They told the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, to restrain members of the National Assembly from collaborating with the APC Governors in the plot to manipulate the convention which could devastate the unity of the party.
The APC youths commended President Muhammadu Buhari for turning down a list of selected candidates the governors presented to him for endorsement.
The youths further cautioned delegates to desist from being induced with money by politicians who are desperate for power.
