All Progressives Congress faithful in Olorunda LCDA have declared the possibility of working against the party in the coming July 12 council poll, if their acclaimed mandate is not restored.
Mr. Fashola Saheed Ward E chairman and Chair of Chair APC Olorunda LCDA in Badagry area of Lagos, made the assertion during a protest of mandate restoration and submission of appeal letter for an aspirant Hon. Prince Adeniyi Balogun.

The aggrieved party loyalist registered their anger over the alleged shoddy manner the primary was conducted, citing the fact that their aspirant had really served the party a great deal in time past and has become a political rallying point for them in Olorunda LCDA and the whole of Badagry.

According to Fashola out of 27 delegates that were listed to participate in the election of their flagbearer in Olorunda LCDA only 25 were captured and out of those, Balogun already has 18 in his favour leaving the remaining 7 amidst other ten contenders.

He hinted that given Balogun’s pedigree and popularity within the party circle no one came close in the rating and that eventually the person pronounced is not known to him in respect to contributions in the advancement of party’s cause.

“I don’t know the person they announced to have won the primary in Olorunda LCDA, we are ready to appear before the appeal committee in defence of this claim, let them bring out his form so that we can authenticate who was the person that appended signature on it as eshrined in the guidelines, he is not know to me at all.

“And if they insist that they won’t bring about justice on this matter we shall not leave the party but we shall show our might and political strength in our area by working against the party for the clear injustice, which must not be allowed to linger any further.

“Ade Balogun is a brand in the whole Badagry because Olorunda LCDA have consistently delivered for the party, we are deciding factor during election all thanks to him, so his matter should accorded the needed attention for the party’s goodness.

Adeniji Adeleye an agent at the Saturday May 10,2025 APC primary for Honourable Adeniyi Balogun was quick to add that he made an observation while the process was ongoing after which he had to take his leave in a peaceful manner, owing to many manipulations.

“Agents are not allowed in the voting corridor we were told to wait behind and trust them that our votes will count.

“After the election they started counting we had 27 delegates out of which two were missing, we have 25 left out of which Adeniyi Balogun had 18 delegates with 11 aspirants contesting for Olorun LCDA.

“So automatically if Ade Balogun that got 18 out of 25, invariably we are having 7 votes left so that must be shared amongst the other 10 aspirants but to our surprise, Peter Ajose polled 23 while Ade Balogun got 2 votes.

“I now asked them that 18 delegates voted but what I noticed and complained to the electoral officer was that same handwriting administered the 25 ballot papers which is unprecedented.

“I protested peacefully and left. I am appealing to our leader Asiwaju Bola  Ahmed Tinubu to please come to our aid.

“Ade Balogun had started his political career as a youth leader from the lowest unit to the ward to local government as two term party chairman of Olorunda LCDA,DG Asiwaju Shettima,Sanwo Olu Hamzat last election.

“He was the DG for Badagry he won all the whole votes, we delivered for Asiwaju we are appealing to Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo Olu and Babatunde Ogala (SAN) the chairman of this election, to please look into this matter.

“The 18 delegates have written boldly to the appeal committee that they cast their votes for Ade Balogun and they are ready to make themselves available whenever the need arise.

“So we are urging Ogala not allow sychophants soil his hard earned reputation as a (SAN), please do justice to this.

Sodiq Abimbola the APC Youth leader in the area highlighted the fact that the alleged winner is an alien in the polity of Olorunda LCDA and should not be allowed to douse the political intensity of the area, singly engineered by Adeniyi Balogun.

“An alien was announced the winner even though we know,he had not secured  one vote, my question is, is this the kind of legacy we are leaving behind for we the emerging leaders?

“Because we are watching how everything is unfolding. I am seeing many youths replicating this kind of corrupt practice out there, do we want this to continue?

“Please we are crying out loud to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our governor Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the APC chairman in lagos Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi to look into the matter and return the people’s mandate to them.

“Adeniyi Balogun represents the people of Olorunda and we all rally round him the people are supporting him, the women, elders, PWDs, widows non indigenes all support him.

“He is the number one mobilizer in the whole of Badagry division, let them return his mandate as this man has given his all, to the party is this how we will treat  and pay him back?

“Please this is injustice and the youths will want a cancelation of this election and we have a re-run or they just be fair enough to return his mandate prior the official announcement with his name printed in bold letters as the emerging flag bearer of the APC at the election, he should come out victorious because he actually won the election fair and square.” Abimbola said.
