APC fixes national convention Feb. 2022
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday fixes the party’s national convention for the election of member of the National Working Committee (NWC) in February 2022.
Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, declared in Abuja on Monday that President Muhammadu Buhari has approved February 2022 for the APC to hold its national convention to elect new party leaders.
Governor Bagudu after a meeting with the President at the State House, Abuja, disclosed the decision of the President at the meeting to State House correspondents.
Governor Bagudu was at treh State House with the APC National Caretaker Committee Chairman, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State and Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State.
The APC governors had held a meeting Sunday night on the party’s national convention. Thereafter, they went to the State House to brief the President and seek his approval of a date for the convention.
Governor Bagudu revealed that the governors resolved that the convention should hold in February 2022 and went to the State House to propose the same suggestion to the President for approval.
The governor added that the APC leadership will decide on particular dates for the national convention.
