APC reps resign on the floor
The APC has continued its losing streak as four of its members in the House of Representatives defected to other political parties.
The lawmakers, Dada Awoleye (Oyo), Segun Williams (Ogun), Lawali Hassan and Adedapo Lam-Adesina (Oyo), announced their defections on Tuesday.
Awoleye defected to the Accord party, Messrs Williams, Hassan and Lam-Adesina defected to Labour Party (LP), People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Action Democratic Congress (ADC), respectively.
A federal lawmaker forewarned last week that more disgruntled members of the ruling party will defect this week.
The 2019 primaries which many of the lawmakers lost are the reason they are defecting.
Damage control effort by President Muhammadu Buhari has yet to yield much.
