Atiku, Ayu, PDP leaders visit Plateau over death of members in Saturday accident
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, on Sunday led a delegation of PDP leaders, who include the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, former Vice President Namadi Sambo, on a condolence visit to Jos, Plateau State, to commiserate with the Plateau State PDP over the death of party supporters in a motor accident on Saturday.
Atiku, expressing sympathy with the State PDP, prayed for the repose of the souls of the dead and wished the injured speedy recovery.
Atiku donated N30 million for the medical bills and treatment of the injured party members.
Ayu conveyed the PDP condolences to the State Party, donated N10 million to the victims on behalf of the national leadership.
The delegation visited the residence of former Governor Jonah Jang; there they met with the State PDP leaders, and the governorship candidate, Caleb Mutfwang.
PDP members returning from the flag-off and zonal campaign in Pankshin were involved in an accident in Mangu Local Government Area, leading to the death of 13 persons, while 64 members were injured.
