Baba Ijesha breaks silence on child sexual abuse conviction, claims he was framed
Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has maintained his innocence in the child sexual abuse case that led to his imprisonment, alleging that he was framed through a conspiracy against him.
The actor made the claims during an interview with Agbaletu Uncensored, where he rejected the description of a paedophile and said he only learnt the meaning of the term while serving his prison sentence.
“I am not a paedophile, I didn’t even know what it meant until I was in prison,” he said.
Baba Ijesha also questioned the circumstances surrounding the incident, claiming that he had never visited the house where he was reportedly captured on camera.
“The house where I was caught on camera, I have never been there before,” he claimed.
Recounting his experience following the allegations, the actor referred to accusations that he used a key to deflower a seven-year-old girl.

He said he challenged his accusers while in prison, invoking his own daughter in an emotional response to the allegations.
“They said I used a key to deflower a 7-year-old. I told them I also have a girl child; when is time they should do likewise to her if I truly did it. I laid that curse,” he said.
The actor further alleged that someone had warned him about the incident before it happened, although he claimed he only remembered the person’s name after the controversy emerged.
His latest comments have brought renewed attention to the high-profile case, which attracted widespread public interest and generated considerable controversy within the Nigerian entertainment industry.
However, the claims made during the interview represent Baba Ijesha’s account of the events and do not, on their own, overturn the legal outcome of his case.
