Bandits kill 15 people in fresh attack in Sokoto
Bandits have reportedly killed 15 people in a fresh attack in two Local Government Areas in Sokoto State.
Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal disclosed this on Monday while presenting the 2022 budget before the State House of Assembly.
The Governor disclosed that 12 people were killed by bandits in Illela LG and three others killed in Goronyo LG.
According to him, the attack occurred between Sunday and early Monday, even as he commiserated with families of those who lost their lives in the attack.
Sokoto has been a den of bandits, with hundreds of locals killed by the dare-devil, carting away cows, kidnapping lots of people for ransom.
Recently, bandits killed over 100 people in a single attack at a market in Sokoto, while in some places, they have imposed taxes on the locals and installed village heads.
