Bandits rape 10 kidnapped women
Bandits at the weekend violently raped 10 women in their camp after they were kidnapped from a community in Shiroro Local Government Area, Niger State, North Central Nigeria. The Chairman of Shiroro Local Government Area, Suleiman Chukuba, in Kuta lamented the violent rape of the women and the painful experiences of kidnapped victims in the LG and Niger State, generally.
Suleiman Chukuba narrated that Boko Haram terrorists concentrate on attacking government institutions and rural communities to establish their own government and Islamic state. The bandits, Chukuba said, carry out wide range of criminal activities invading communities, rustling cattle, kidnapping for ransom, killings, and destruction of property.
The Shiroro LG chairman decried that the local government and several parts of Niger State, have been under siege for some time, noting that uncertainty pervades in rural communities across the LG and the state.
However, the federal government has declared both Boko Haram and bandits terrorists.
