Bandits shoot PoS operator, three others, rob them of new Naira notes
Bandits invaded a point-of-sales (PoS) terminal, shooting four persons, including a point-of-sales (PoS) operator, and robbed them of redesigned Naira notes being swapped across the country with old notes in Zaki Local Government Area, Bauchi State.
The bandits were said to have struck on Friday night as people were in last minute rush to deposit their notes to meet the January 31 deadline, before the CBN announced the extension to February 10.
The four victims shot by the bandits were said to be hospitalised and are being treated at the Federal Medical Centre, Azare.
The PoS operator, Abdullahi Haruna, was said to have lost a bag containing money to the bandits at gun point.
The Commissioner of Police of the Bauchi State Command, Aminu Alhassan, was said to have disclosed that the command has made an arrest.
