BREAKING: Court grants N100m bail to ex-Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai
A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, in the sum of N100 million, with one surety in like sum.
The ruling was delivered on Monday by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, who also imposed several stringent conditions that must be met before the bail can be perfected.
According to the court order, the surety must reside within highbrow areas of Abuja, specifically Maitama or Asokoro, and must deposit the original Certificate of Occupancy of a landed property with the court registry as security.
The court further directed that the surety must be a serving federal civil servant not below Grade Level 17, and must provide evidence of salary payments for at least three months.
This documentation is also required to be supported by a confirmation letter from a bank manager within the jurisdiction of the court.

The bail conditions are among the strict measures often imposed by courts to ensure compliance with judicial proceedings and the availability of defendants during trial.

The development has drawn significant public attention, given El-Rufai’s prominence in Nigerian politics and his recent activities following his tenure as governor of Kaduna State.
