Breaking: Ex-Deputy Senate President, Ibrahim Mantu dies at 74
A former Plateau Central Senator and deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Ibrahim Nasiru Mantu, is dead.
He was reported to have died in the early hours of today, Tuesday, August 17, 2021.
No further details about the cause of his death were revealed by his immediate family as at the time of filling this report
Born on February 19, 1947, the late Mantu reportedly took ill three days ago but his condition worsened two days ago.
A top member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said the senator who represented Plateau Central Senatorial District in the upper chamber of the National Assembly, died on Monday night.
Late Mantu was the deputy senate president between 2003 and 2007.
