Breaking: Gunmen abducts CBN governor’s wife
The wife of the governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele has been kabducted by heavily armed group yesterday’s evening along the Benin-Agbor road.
National Daily gathered that Mrs. Margaret Emefiele was abducted yesterday by heavily armed gang who had since contacted the family, demanding for an unspecified sum as ransom.
All efforts by National Daily to get the CBN’s governor to react to the development proved abortive as the incident seemed to be been shrouded in utmost secrecy.
This latest kidnapping would bring brings to fore the series of high flying kidnapping in 2016. For instance, the kidnapping of the Sierra-Leonean Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, Maj. Gen Alfred Claude-Nelson on June 30, 2016 as well as the kidnapping of Oniba of Ibaland, Oba Goriola Oseni few months back are some of the cases.
The husband of the victim, Godwin Emefiele is yet to make any statement on the abduction, meanwhile National Daily will continue to monitor the unfolding sad scenario.
