Breaking: JAMB releases 2025 rescheduled UTME results, over 21,000 candidates absent
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of the rescheduled 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) held in select centres across Nigeria.
The supplementary exam was conducted for candidates whose initial UTME sessions were disrupted due to technical issues.
This development was confirmed in a statement issued on Sunday morning by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.
According to the statement, a total of 336,845 candidates were rescheduled to participate in the make-up examination.
However, 21,082 candidates failed to appear for the rescheduled test. JAMB did not provide specific reasons for the high number of absentees.
Benjamin clarified that the resit was carefully coordinated following the exclusion of centres that had “isolated good sessions,” ensuring that only candidates genuinely affected by technical disruptions were included in the new schedule. He explained:

“Of the 336,845 who were eventually scheduled after isolated good sessions of the affected centres were excluded and their previously unverified candidates were added, 21,082 were absent.”
The rescheduled UTME was part of JAMB’s efforts to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all candidates affected by technical malfunctions during the original examination.
The board has urged candidates to check their results through the appropriate channels and continue with their admission processes.
More updates are expected in the coming days regarding further steps for candidates who missed the resit or still have unresolved issues.
