Breaking: PDP national chairman suspended; punishment double
After series of meetings and the intervention of party elders, Uche Secondus begins his journey out of office in the thick of supremacy battle with his backbone and Rivers Gov Nyesom Wike.
A High Court in Rivers State just restrained Secondus from parading himself as the National Chairman of the party.
Justice O. Gbasam of the State High Court sitting in Degema local government area of the state gave the ruling August 23.
The judge also approved the suspension of Secondus as a member of the party.
And it remains so pending the hearing and determination of motion on notice for interlocutory injunction.
Some aggrieved members of the PDP brought the suit against Secondus, and they were seeking to restrain him as part executive and member.
The court granted the ex parte order.
Wike initially denied he had no problem with Secondus, but he would not tolerate the wrongs the party chairman does.
The embattled chairman has been accused of mismanaging party funds and weak leadership.
