According to Statista, 2020 ended with over 1.1 million new business ventures, up from around 1 million in 2019 and 950,000 in 2018. It’s a trend that continues, as similar Statista reports indicate that over 300,000 new businesses were established in the first quarter of 2021, and the number continued to grow throughout the remainder of the year.

As per Gianni Senesi, the primary reason for this is that people’s cultural perceptions of entrepreneurship shifted, and they began to appreciate the benefits of entrepreneurship.
