The Lagos State PDP has urged Nigerians, especially the youth to shelve all angers and resentment, and celebrate responsibly during the Yuletide.

The party, in its Christmas and New Year message by the Publicity Secretary, Mr Hakeem Amode on Saturday, also urged Nigerians, especially Christians to use the occasion of 2022 Christmas season to pray for the nation’s turnaround in 2023.

Wishing Nigerians a merry Christmas and a Happy 2023, Amode said the PDP had promised to restore the glorious Christmas celebration to the state if elected.

“We urge the youths to shelve their anger and resentment for the current challenges in the nation  and celebrate responsibly to ensure that we have and maintain a conducive and harmonious environment for celebration in Lagos state.

“In line with the tenets of the celebration which is rooted in giving, family and communion, we urge the people of the state to celebrate in accordance with their economical capacity.

“We urge the people to use the occasion to pray for the nation, Nigeria and particularly our dear state ,  as the coming year signifies  a turnaround in the fortune of the state.

“Our party is also using this opportunity to urge the people of the state to expect a breath of fresh air in the new year as they look forward to celebrating 2023 Christmas in a better condition than they do this year,” Amode said.

According to him, if elected in 2023 general elections, the people’s welfare and wellbeing will be the priority of PDP’s government.

Amode said that the party sympathised with family who would not be able to afford to celebrate this festive period due to the current economic hardship.

He said  the party was promising the people restoration of good time in the government of PDP when elected.

Amode appealed to organisations and individuals with means to extend hands of fellowship to the  less privileged in our society,,  to ensure that the love associated with the season spread across to everyone during the yuletide.

“It is our dear pledge that the next celebration of this nature in the state will be under a government who puts the people first in their priority.

“Once again we wish every family and individuals in the state a warm yuletide celebration and a prosperous new year 2023.”
