Co
Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Thursday upheld Oladipupo Adebutu as governorship candidate of the of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State. The Judge in a judgement on the suit filed by Jimi Lawal, declared Adebutu winner of the Ogun State PDP governorship primary election, dismissing the suit of Lawal for lacking reliable and credible evidence.
Justice Ekwo in his judgement, stated that Lawal is a “spoiler”, after joining the PDP in March from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and participated in governorship primary election held in May.
The Judge maintained that the delegates list Lawal had challenged, is the same list the PDP approved, including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the primary which was also used the nomination process wherein Adebutu emerged as the PDP governorship candidate for 2023 election.
