Covid-19: First index case in Nigeria dead in Lagos, not from Italy, infected much earlier
One of the deaths by Covid-19 that Lagos recorded yesterday was 45-year-old Nigerian who returned from India.
His death however reveled a lot more bout how the pandemic spread to Nigeria.
The 45-year-old came into Nigeria form India in January, earlier than the Italian confirmed positive on Feb 27.
Lagos Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, made this known on his Twitter handle on Tuesday.
According to him, no new case of #COVID-19 was confirmed in Lagos on 20th April, 2020. However, #COVID19 related deaths were recorded in Lagos.
“One of the deceased was a 45 years old Nigerian male who returned from India in January, 2020.”
While the Italian pulled through, the Nigerian died April 20.
